Affordable Home Decor with a Modern Farmhouse-y Vibe

After finishing our board and batten accent wall I was so ready to start picking out decorations, a color scheme, and a new farmhouse bedroom set.

The furniture process was not the easiest. We wanted to upgrade to nicer furniture, but we were still working with the same size bedroom. We looked at Ashley Furniture, Raymour & Flanigan, Raymour & Flanigan Outlet, Bob's Discount Furniture, Wayfair, Amazon, and I even drug Greg to a few sketchy furniture stores that looked way nicer online. It was exhausting!

The sets we really liked didn't seem to fit, and the sets that fit we didn't really like as much. We finally found the Andover set at the Raymour & Flanigan Outlet and I loved it! Greg didn't think it would fit, so I was really sad to keep looking. After a few days and a few furniture stores he decided we should go back and check it out again. He remeasured the room and the set, then realized it could fit!

Being the contractor he is he taped out the floor of the bedroom (something I never would have thought of) to make sure it wouldn't be too crammed. We got the 4 piece set, then added the chest and an extra nightstand. It seemed to work, but stay tuned because it comes in this Friday! Ha!

Once the hard part of paint and furniture was done, I started on the next (hard) part. A color scheme. I made about 15 mood boards for a farmhouse maser bedroom. See below:

It was too hard to decide on anything just on my phone, so I called my mom to help me out and we headed to the Mother Land of Homegoods.

I found a ton of great things for the bedrooms between Home Sense, Homegoods, Marshall's, and Amazon. I decided on a warm-ish, blush, gold, and cream color scheme! To my surprise, Greg actually really loved it!

Plenty of texture from the quilt, then I got a plush throw and a folded duvet for the foot of the bed. I also already had two oversized gray furry pillows from college (haha, they travel with me) that will be used right against the white headboard!

Here are links to all of the farmhouse style throw pillows, quilts, and decor pieces! Be sure to follow me over on LIKEtoKNOW.it as I continue to update my affordable home decor finds!

Thanks for following the decor journey & stay tuned for how it all comes together!

In case no one told you today, you are so very loved!

Alaina
